The studio facility is located in a quiet and serene atmosphere of a 300 year old hacienda just 10 minutes outside of san miguel de allende guanajuato. Our studio is 12 x 6 mts. We have a variety of common and rare instruments from acoustic guitars, to a hammer dulcimer available for your next project. We have one isolation booth to better capture the sound of your voice, or any instrument needing extra delicacy.

Hotel

Accommodations

Our Hotel has 11 charming rooms and 3 suites overlooking a beautiful rustic courtyard, adorned with organic garden, and horse corral. Each room has been named for a grandmother, and each has it’s own personality featuring furniture and art from galleria atotonilco. Located adjacent to the hacienda, La Posada facilitates guests to work in the studio while remaining close to rest and relaxation of their room.

Education & Teaching Opportunities

Septima Studios is a cooperative multi-media studio based on many philosophies: Bio-technical exchange ¹, Socialism ², and Phenomenology ³. The persons involved strive for ecological protection and integral practices with an emphasis on phenomenology and communication. We are using the methodology from a masters thesis from Prescott college in 1994. The core team developed an organization named P.I.H.E ⁴ to undertake the listening to skinhead stories project. It is with this empathic listening model that we will conduct ourselves throughout the Septima project.

The project revolves around two main studios located at Ex-Hacienda La Petaca in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato Mexico. The rural Ejido (Similar to a reservation) is home to over 400 children. The studios trade time-for-time to help educate the students in the arts and music while cultivating an attitude of stewardship towards the land and ecology.

These exchange facilitates exposure to professional musicians and artists for these rural kids as well as meaningful experiences for both mentors and students. The long term goal and desire of this project is not based on an outcome rather studying, experiencing, and being part of the confusion and beauty when the different persons from different societies, cultures, psychological tendencies, and even neurological states get together in the same room, an ultimately how that effects the ecology of our planet.
